Composition Of A Wheel Set

‌A wheel set is mainly composed of the following parts: rim, spokes, spoke nipples, hubs, valves and tires. ‌

‌Rim‌: The rim is the outer edge of the wheel, usually made of aluminum alloy or carbon fiber. It not only determines the size of the wheel, but also directly affects the stability and comfort of the vehicle. Carbon fiber rims are usually lighter but more expensive; aluminum alloy rims are more cost-effective but heavier.‌

‌Spokes‌: Spokes connect the rim and the hub to support and connect. The number and material of the spokes will affect the strength and weight of the wheel. The spoke design of high-end road cars is more sophisticated to reduce wind resistance and improve performance.‌

‌Spoke nipples‌: Spoke nipples are used to adjust the tension of the spokes to ensure the stability and balance of the wheel. High-quality spoke nipples can provide better adjustment accuracy and longer service life.‌

‌Hubs‌: Hubs are the core components of wheel rolling, divided into ball hubs and bearing hubs. Ball bearing hubs are easy to maintain but have greater friction; bearing hubs are more stable and have less friction, but do not require frequent maintenance.

‌Valve: The valve is used to inflate the tire to ensure that the tire maintains the proper pressure, which affects the vehicle's handling and comfort.

‌Tire: The tire is in direct contact with the ground, and its material and design directly affect the vehicle's grip and rolling resistance. Different types of tires are suitable for different road conditions, such as smooth city roads or rugged mountains.
