Composition Of Cranes

Crane is mainly composed of the following parts:

Metal structure: including tower, boom, balance arm, etc. These structures together constitute a complex mechanical system that can both vertically lift and horizontally move heavy objects, realizing efficient and flexible construction operations.

Working mechanism: including lifting mechanism, luffing mechanism, slewing mechanism and walking mechanism (some tower cranes have no walking mechanism). The lifting mechanism is used to lift heavy objects, the luffing mechanism is used to adjust the angle of the boom, the slewing mechanism enables the crane to rotate 360 degrees, and the walking mechanism enables the tower crane to move on the ground.

Control system: used to control various actions of the crane, including lifting, luffing, slewing and walking. Modern cranes are usually equipped with advanced control systems that can achieve precise operation and monitoring.

Safety device: including various sensors and protection devices to ensure the safe operation of the crane and prevent accidents. For example, the crane safety monitoring system can monitor the height, angle, lifting weight, torque, wind speed and other parameters of the equipment in real time during operation, and alarm and protect when necessary.

‌Other components‌: such as tie rods, working platforms, tower caps, etc. The tie rods connect the tower caps with the crane arm and the balance arm to ensure the stability and safety of the structure; the working platform is used by maintenance personnel for operation and inspection; the tower caps support the crane arm and the balance arm and bear huge loads‌.
